Siberian Motherwort (Leonurus Sibiricus) also known as Honeyweed and Marihuanilla, is a herb that belongs to the mint family. It is native to East Asia, especially commonplace in China, Tibet, and Siberia.Â It later became naturalised in many other parts of the world, including South, Central and North America.
The seeds, stems and leaves of Siberian Motherwort are considered to have a multitude of therapeutic uses in various cultures; in Malaysia, the dried leaves are used for cooking, and in China, the herb is well known for its medicinal purposes. It contains traces of the mildly psychoactive alkaloid leonurine, which is used as a substitute for Marijuana.
